Christian Prayers: The Prayer For Healing, Healing Prayers

God, in His Word, has made provision for every situation that we will face on this earth and in His service, and divine healing is included. The first thing you have to realize when praying for divine healing is that it has never been God’s will for us to sick. It is not a part of His plan, never has been, never will be. Sickness and disease are a plan of the enemy who “like a roaring lion goes about seeking whom he may devour”, (1 Pe. 5:28). Satan enjoys nothing more than seeing God’s children walking around miserable and sick trying to serve God.

Sickness not only limits what you can do for the kingdom of God, but it robs you of the joy of doing it. Service without joy is dead works. If you are struggling to get things done for the body of Christ, and you’re always weak or sick, what sort of witness does that give to the world? It really discredits God’s work and His word. So, the first thing you need to do is except that it is not God’s will for you to be sick. Not even a minor cold. You need to begin by increasing your faith in the area of divine healing.

Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance (you could say faith is substance, it is something) of things hoped (or what you are hoping for) for, the evidence of things not seen”, and Hebrews 11:6 assures us that “without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is (you have to believe in the existence of God before you can expect to get anything from Him), and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

So, we know that faith is something and because of it, we hope for things. As a matter of fact, it is the substance of what we hope for. So, even if you do not believe in healing, you are exercising faith. The difference is that your faith is in your sickness and your hope is in getting well. In actuality, it is easier to believe in your sickness then it is in your health, because you can experience you sickness through your natural senses. But, when you are walking in faith you can speak God’s Word and believe it. Then your hope is in a sure thing and the evidence will follow.

How does one increase their faith for healing? Roman’s 10:17 tells us that “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” So the first step in increasing your level of faith for divine healing is seeking God’s Word on the subject. Remember that you have to believe that it is His will and that He desires for you to be whole in every area of our life, especially in your physical bodies.

The second step is to seek out scripture that supports healing and confess it out loud. Proverbs 4:20-22 says, “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Isaiah 55:10-11 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. The preceding scriptures show us that we are to attend to the word, or give t attention, because it is life and health to our flesh. We see that the Word is spirit and life, and that when we speak God’s word it will not return without producing that thing which was sent out to do. Jeremiah 1:12 says that God will “hasten His word to perform it. God looks for opportunities to perform what He has promised in His word.

Throughout scripture we see where God has made provision for healing. In Deuteronomy 7:15 “And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee” He promises that none of the worlds disease will be put upon us. Exodus 15:26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.” Here He calls Himself our life and length of days.

Jeremiah 30:17 For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. He promises to restore our health and heal our wounds.

Jeremiah 33:6 Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth. He will not only heal us but give us peace. 2 Chronicles 30:20 And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

Job 37:23 Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict. It is not God that afflicts us with sickness and disease. He is the Healer. Psalms 147:3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He is our deliverer, and Jesus Himself paid the price for our healing. 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

These are but a few of the many scriptures that promise divine health in God’s word. After seeking the God’s will through the Word you need to speak His will out loud into your life. Begin to confess these scriptures and believe that God is faithful to perform His word. Add the principles of the prayers of faith and binding and loosing to the prayer for healing and believe God for miracles in your life.
